Trainee Arborist/climber

Job Summary

We are a busy company looking for a trainee to join our team. Do you enjoy work outside and have an interest in Horticulture or trees? We are looking for someone who enjoys working outside, isn't afraid of physical work and wants a trade qualification. This role provides on the job training with attendance at TAFE once a week to complete your Cert III in Horticulture.

Role Description

As a Trainee Arborist you will gain valuable and varied experience. At The Tree Frog Tree Specialists we truly value our staff. We recognise that Trainees help us identify new talent, build new skills in our workforce and increase diversity in the workplace.

Duties will include:

- Tree pruning, felling and dismantling
- Operating and maintaining tools and machinery
- Aerial tree inspections and ground operations using ladders, climbing equipment and elevated platforms

You will also work towards gaining certificates of competence including chainsaw maintenance, crosscutting and tree climbing/aerial rescue.

**Required Skills**:

- Genuine interest in arboriculture and horticulture
- Ability to work at heights, outdoors in all weathers
- Experience working as part of a team (this could be in a sporting, educational, work or social setting)
- Can follow both written and verbal instructions
- An awareness and understanding of the importance of health and safety
- Good attention to detail Is self-motivated, enthusiastic and keen to learn new things
