Female Disability Support Workers

- So let us give you the rundown on who you will be assisting to live their best life _
- You will be supporting a dynamic and spirited 48-year-old Client who experiences many complex challenges. These challenges mean our Client requires emotional supports as well as some minor prompting for personal cares and domestic support. There may be a community participation aspect of this in the form of assisting to go shopping and perhaps appointments, but most importantly, she really wants people to have a bit of fun with and who can help her with navigating life. She does like going into the community for field trips but is just as comfortable staying indoors._
- It is not all socialising though, our Client does need people who are sympathetic to mental health / psychosocial developmental challenges and physical limitations and who are able to deescalate situations of anxiety or distress._
- Additionally, the ideal Support Worker is someone who is resilient, has a ‘thick skin’ and can manage challenging situations with patience, understanding and compassion. Given her diagnosis of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, she has cognitive and developmental challenges but underneath is an extremely dynamic and loving individualwho is also a cat lover._
- This Client requires female Support Workers only please._
- It's not all on you though, as you will have support in this via a dedicated QSSS Support Specialist as well as training provided by experiences Support Workers and a Behavioural Support Practitioner who can assist you in ensuring you are absolutely set up to have an awesome time with this person._
- **The shifts on offer are mainly weekday 3:00pm - 9:00am with a sleepover between 10:00pm - 6:00am however there are also 9:00am - 3:00pm shifts on Tuesday's & Saturday's available too.**_

**QSSS hourly rates are Weekday $35.66, Evening $38.30, Night $39.33, Saturday $48.65, Sunday $62.62, Public Holidays $76.38 -**_ **(sorry, rate not negotiable).**_

We also support our staff through our EAP service which offers 4 x free counselling sessions where required, as well as discounted physiotherapy sessions at select physio practices while also having the assurance of consistency of **C**lients you support. You have a comprehensive suite of online learning to support you and face to face learnings.

- Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Clients needs with our Clients, team & Support Specialist
- Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Client’s needs
- Provide support to our Clients as required
- Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
- Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required
- Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients
- To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals

To be successful you must:

- Resonate with the role description above
- Have a genuine desire to positively change people's lives
- Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
- Hold or be willing to obtain NDIS worker screening or yellow card
- Hold or be willing to obtain a blue card
