**Role/description**:Disability/Mental Health Support Worker.

This is a Floater position - looking for a worker in the North

Nest Training and Support Services are looking for Mental Health/Disability Support Workers that can create long-term relationships. If you would like the opportunity to work for a small business, that allows flexibility, covers a range of tasks, but above all is supportive of not only the client but also YOU, then this is it

**Key Selection Criteria**:
1. Flexibility to work a variety of days, with a minimum of 12 hours available per week.

2. Honesty and integrity. A reliable person.

3. Documentation and reporting capabilities

4. Willing to travel in various locations and willing to commute from home to work for about 30km sometimes more, as well as having their own fully insured vehicle.

5. Ability to work autonomously and in a team, following directives as per clients care plan.

6. Possess strong communication skills.

7. Demonstrated capacity to provide companionship and commitment to create long term relationships.

8. Capable of delivering information, advice or guidance.

9. Knowledge of services and systems in the areas of Disability (NDIS) and Mental Health.

10. Demonstrated understanding of the importance of connection and an ability to build relationships by listening to and understanding the expressed and unexpressed needs of the people you support.

11. Demonstrate a mature approach, openness and non-judgemental approach.

**Qualifications Essential**:

- Police Check (or willing to get one)
- WWCC (or willing to get one)
- Current Australian Driver’s License with registered vehicle.
- Any related qualifications or lived experience in the following are an advantage:
Aged care, Community Services, Disability, Social work, Mental Health etc.

**Can be a student currently studying in the sector**

If you don't have industry experience, we can assist with any training required

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: From $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Penalty rates

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
- National Police Certificate (preferred)
- Driver Licence (preferred)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
