**Time fraction**:0.7 - 0.8 FTE
In this role, you will provide one-on-one and group mentoring to support retention rates in young people’s current educational and vocational pathways while actively engaging with families and the wider community to create a strong support network. You will assist young people in setting and achieving their education and employment goals, helping them build the skills and confidence needed for long-term success. Through life skills training, you will foster independence and resilience, empowering participants to overcome barriers
This position is based at headspace Ballarat, supporting young people aged 12-25 and their families and carers. BCH is the Lead Agency for headspace Ballarat. Headspace has a multi-disciplinary team of allied health staff, general practitioners, and youth workers that provide assistance with physical and sexual health concerns, mental health and emotional-wellbeing, education and vocation support, and alcohol and other drugs services.

Ballarat Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation that’s been creating healthy communities through the provision of accessible, affordable and quality health and wellbeing services for over 45 years.
We deliver a range of primary health, social care and community-based support to meet local community needs. We have approximately 300 staff, with seven (7) locations across Ballarat and the Western Region.
**About the role**:

**What you will bring to the team**:
- Bachelor degree, Diploma or Certificate in a relevant field
- Experience in employment services, vocational rehabilitation, career development, career counselling or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of issues that impact young people when accessing employment and/or educational opportunities
- Experience developing good business relationships
- Knowledge of the employment services sector, Centrelink and other state and federal employment initiatives that impact young people
