**General Services**

The **General Services** department at the **Victorian Heart Hospital** supports all areas and includes Patient Services Assistants, Environment Services and Porter teams. These teams are customer focussed and take personal pride in delivering an outstanding service.

**Patient Services Assistants**

**Key responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Transfer and transport of patients throughout the hospital
- Use of lifting equipment, bed movers and wheelchairs
- Assisting nursing staff as requested
- Transfer and cleaning of ward equipment
- Department/Ward Cleaning

**Ongoing Role (76 Hours per fortnight + ADO)**

**Wednesdays to Sundays 7:00am - 15:30pm**

**You’re an amazing Support Services professional and experienced Patient Services Assistant who takes personal pride in your work and brings out the best in people. You’re currently in hospitality or healthcare and ready to take the next step in your career.**

To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

- Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
- Previous experience as a patient services assistant _(Desirable)_
- Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions and procedures
- Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Good understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
- A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team and autonomously
- A “Can Do” attitude with the capability to problem solve and troubleshoot
- A positive attitude and drive to deliver excellent customer service
- Genuine interest in working with and caring for people
- Flexible approach to working in all areas as required
