**Position Information**:
Tenambit Public School is committed to delivering excellence within a rich and supportive learning environment. A focus on literacy and numeracy drives learning across all classrooms.

Tenambit Public School is located in the Maitland area and is on Wonnarua Land. It has a current enrolment of 345 students and has 30% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander within a culturally diverse student community. This diversity of cultural and language backgrounds leads to a rich immersion in learning opportunities for all students. The school setting includes a MC class, an ED class and a Hearing class.

As a Positive Behaviour for Learning school, a focus on Kindness underpins all interactions. The school community is committed to working together to support students and families. The school has a strong connected community with a vibrant and supportive parent community who work together in a strong and authentic partnership.

A member of the Maitland Learning Community, Tenambit Public School participates in cross school events and opportunities, giving students and school staff many opportunities to create learning networks.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary:

- Demonstrated capacity to balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and middle leadership in a highly complex school to drive success in student learning.
- Proven ability to collaborate and support a team through change by using evidence-based practices to promote improved student outcomes in English and Mathematics.
- Demonstrated implementation of the Partnership Agreement between the NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group Inc and the NSW Department of Education 2020 - 2030 in the school setting, to build relational trust.
- Demonstrated capacity to enhance the school's wellbeing practices and evidence of building connection with community and families.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
