About the Role

The role of Technical Data Steward is a newly created position which is responsible for the management and oversight of data assets within Bapcor’s Enterprise Azure Data Platform. The position will focus on making Bapcor’s data accessible, consistent, usable and secure to ensure compliance and improve data quality.

**Key responsibilities include**:
An important conduit between IT and business stakeholders to carry out data usage and security policies as determined through Bapcor’s data governance initiatives.

Establish Data Stewardship across the business with responsibility for ensuring that data within the Enterprise Azure Data platform is managed and used as per internal and external policies and rules.

Build policies, standards and controls for the lifecycle management of data and the execution of these policies and standards

Responsible for defining the data, cataloguing this data including its source, type, and format using tools to build an inventory of data across the platform and to update this as new data sources are identified.

Helping to create and implement processes and procedures for data collection, storage, use and security within the Azure environment and helping to identify ways to use data to drive organisation objectives.

About you

Proven and significant experience working with databases, data modelling, data warehousing concepts within Microsoft’s Azure Platform.

Demonstrated knowledge of industry leading data quality and data management practices with comprehensive knowledge of DMBOK framework and other information governance frameworks.

Good general business acumen across Retail, Trade and Supply Chain domains highly regarded.

Seasoned experience with data analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies with a focus on data governance and security.

This is a position that requires exceptional communication skills, who will take a “hands on” approach and with proven stakeholder management experience across all levels of business.
