Barista - Castaway Coffee Bar (Full-Time / Flexible Roster)

**Location**: Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast - right on the beach
**Hours**: Full-time with a flexible roster (day shifts only - no night work)

Castaway Coffee Bar is one of the Gold Coast’s most loved specialty coffee cafés, known for creative iced matcha flavours, signature brunch dishes, and our unbeatable beachfront vibes. We’re excited to be expanding our team and are looking for a talented Barista to join us and help deliver the high standards, warm atmosphere, and coffee excellence we’re known for.

What you’ll do
- Prepare high-quality specialty coffee drinks with consistency and care
- Deliver latte art/coffee art to a high standard - this is a must
- Serve customers with friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service
- Assist with opening/closing tasks, cleaning, and general floor upkeep
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen, supervisors, and your barista teammates
- Maintain clean, organised workstations and equipment
- Occasionally assist with training new staff and managing busy service times

What we’re looking for
- Minimum 1 year experience in a high-paced, coffee-focused café environment
- Comfortable working in a high-volume café serving 500+ coffees daily
- Strong knowledge of espresso preparation, milk texturing, and specialty coffee standards
- Latte art/coffee art skills are essential
- Passion for specialty coffee and dedication to delivering excellence
- Friendly, positive attitude and ability to thrive under pressure
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Flexible availability including weekends and busy periods

Pay: From $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
