Disability Support Worker

Job summary: Disability support workers support their clients with personal care needs, in-home daily care activities, facilitate therapies, and provide companionship and social support.
Generally, you can expect the following standards from support workers:

- Support workers perform all duties with professionalism and care.
- Support workers manage their time, and plan and organize their work.
- Support workers display sound judgment, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Support workers use common sense and approach management for guidance where tasks, activities or duties are beyond the scope of what could reasonably be expected from someone in the role of support worker.

Responsibilities and duties:
Responsibilities and duties may vary from time to time and may include the following:

- Helping with household tasks.
- Providing personal care support.
- Administering medication.
- Helping clients learn new skills.
- Supporting clients to start employment
- Doing grocery shopping and preparing meals.
- Working with doctors and therapists to ensure support.
- Demonstrating and supporting new life skills, such as budgeting.
- Adjusting and adapting communication and body language to suit client needs.
- Supporting clients to develop new hobbies and interests.
- Transporting and accompanying clients to appointments.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Current First Aid Certificate
- Working With Children check
- Cert III in Individual Support (Disability)
- Ability to work independently and part of a team.

looking for someone who is available for evening shifts (3-9pm) and overnight shifts (9pm-9am)
Also someone who is free most of the week. We need someone who can handle a majority of shifts for the week.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $30.61 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Shift work
- Weekend availability

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)

- Driver Licence (required)
