Operator/labourer

**About the role**:
Based at our InfraBuild Recycling Hemmant site, the Operator/Labourer will be responsible for sorting scrap metal. This is a day shift role working from 6 am to 2 pm, Monday to Friday plus overtime available on weekdays and some weekends. This is a full-time permanent position with on-the-job training provided and excellent opportunities for career progression.

Pay rate for this role without forklift ticket is $30.65 per hour plus overtime paid at penalty rates.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Identify and sort scrap metals
- Move and load sorted materials into designated containers or storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness in the yard and operational areas
- Operate forklifts and perform manual handling tasks
- Adhere to workplace safety procedures at all times
- Immediately report any hazards or equipment malfunctions

Ideally you will have:

- A valid forklift license - desirable but not essential
- Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is highly advantageous
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
- A positive and safety focused mindset with a general willingness to learn
- Passion for working as part of a collaborative team
