Lawyer/Associate 2-5 PAE (Class Actions)

What are we looking for?

Our Class Actions practice group is growing and we are now seeking a committed, motivated and passionate Lawyer with 2-5 years PQE to join our Melbourne or Sydney teams.

This role provides an opportunity to be part of a thriving team that will drive forward Class Actions such as those arising out of the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry, common law Class Actions (including bush fire, product liability and human rights claims) and securities litigation.

Prior experience of working in Class Actions is not a pre-requisite but is highly desirable. If you are a committed litigator with some experience, we will work with you to expand your knowledge and skills in this dynamic area.

This role will commence in the Commercial Class Actions team, which focuses on financial claims including litigation arising from the Banking Royal Commission and shareholder claims.

What will you bring?

You will have a proven ability in using your exceptional analytical and communication skills to achieve great litigation outcomes.

In addition, you will have previously taken responsibility in running complex litigation. Your background will demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and ownership.

The following skills, experience and attributes will ensure your ongoing success:

- Previous experience in Class Actions or complex/large-scale litigation, particularly in case management, briefing experts and discovery
- Excellent technical legal and analytical skills
- Commercial experience and financial literacy
- Exceptional negotiation skills and an ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
- Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management, and working as part of a team
- The ability to listen, exercise judgement and resolve problems expeditiously
- Current practising certificate
