The role of a Vineyard Hand is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the vineyard, including planting, pruning, harvesting, and maintaining vines to ensure the highest quality grape production. The Vineyard Hand plays a key role in supporting sustainable vineyard practices and maintaining the overall health of the vineyard.

**The Role**:

- Perform routine tasks such as pruning, thinning, canopy management, trellising, and training of vines.
- Assist in irrigation management, including monitoring soil moisture and maintaining irrigation systems.
- Participate in the grape harvesting process, including handpicking grapes, sorting, and transporting harvest materials.
- Monitor vine health and growth, reporting any signs of stress, pests, or disease to the Vineyard Manager.
- Assist in soil management activities, such as mulching, fertilising, and weeding to maintain vineyard sustainability.
- Safely operate and maintain vineyard equipment, including tractors, sprayers, and other machinery.

**About You**:

- Technical Skills: Great understanding of vineyard operations, including mechanical harvesting operations, routine repairs and maintenance, pruning, vine training, planting, trellising, irrigation, chemicals handing and grafting. Ability to operate and maintain vineyard equipment safely and efficiently.
- Leadership: Supervisors and coordinates the work of employees within a section of the vineyard and maintains company standards relating to safety, quality and production volume.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail when performing tasks to ensure accuracy and quality in vineyard maintenance and grape production.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods in various weather conditions.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and long shifts during harvest season. Capacity to adapt to changing tasks and priorities in a dynamic vineyard environment.
