**Our Journey**:
**Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.

The Food Services team at Casey Hospital requires a qualified Food Services Assistant to prepare and provide meals to our wards striving to consistently deliver high quality and efficient services to our patients.

**Ongoing shifts available**:
**Ward E**

**Monday to Wednesday** 6.30am **-** 2.00pm**

**(42 hours per fortnight)**

**Short Stay Emergency**

**Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 1.30pm - 8.30pm**

**(39 hours per fortnight)**

**Tower 3**

**Friday 1.30pm - 8.30pm**

**(13 hours per fortnight)**

**Tower 4**

**Friday 1.30pm - 8.30pm**

**(13 hours per fortnight)**

**Ward B**

**Wednesday and Thursday 1.30pm - 8.30pm**

**A Day in the Life**:
Working as part of the Food Services team at Casey Hospital, the main focus for a Food Services Assistant is on delivering an exceptional patient meal experience and willing to work within the values of Monash Health. The Food Service Assistant will be committed to work in a team environment with the ability to prioritise your tasks to prepare and provide meals, and delivering outstanding customer services.

You must have:

- Knowledge in stock control
- Knowledge in computer-based menu management system
- A thorough understanding of food safety and cleaning process within a healthcare environment

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Cleaning within a food services environment form a food safety compliance
- Deliver and distribute meal trays from patients

- Excellent customer service skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health.
- A proactive approach and team player
- Good team management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Is able to work unsupervised but take direction
- Takes pride in your work with attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service

**What you need**:

- Relevant food services certificate (minimum SITXFSA001 - Use hygienic practices for food safety) - Essential
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Food Services Assistant in a medium to large acute health setting or large residential aged care or equivalent public or private sector
- A strong understanding of food safety
- Knowledge of stock control
- Knowledge of computer-based menu management system
- Demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment
- Basic to moderate computer skills
