Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Security Administration Officer on a contract for 12 months with 2x12 months extension options.
**Position Overview**
The Project Support Officer will work under general direction and be responsible for the delivery of timely, efficient, effective and friendly management and process support.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Group Mailbox management
- Review, analysis and governance of the department’s contract deliverables
- Management of stakeholders
- Integrate with existing team and leveraging shared knowledge and experience
- Review and familiarization with the policies and procedures of department
**Mandatory Requirement**:
Baseline Clearance
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Processing criminal records checks;
- Managing electronic security inboxes by responding to queries within appropriate timeframes;
- Liaising internally and externally to commence, monitor, progress and finalise security clearance processes. Updating relevant internal systems with this information;
- Managing and supporting security clearance processes with outsourced vetting providers (OSPs) and other government agencies;
- Providing policy and related procedural advice regarding security clearance requirements as outlined in the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework and the Departmental Security Framework;
- Preparing documentation for delegate approval;
- Compiling regular compliance reports to manage and forecast workloads;
- Providing client services assistance at the Department’s Security counter;
- Work to tight deadlines and effectively manage competing priorities;
- Assist with the progression of internal security processes as required (remote work/integrity checks);
- Maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the administration of security clearances;
- Assisting Team Leaders with projects related to policy or operational processes;
- Undertaking regular reviews of Department’s files to identify which can be destroyed in line with the archives act 1983
- Provide assistance across the section more broadly (as required).
- Other duties as directed by the team leader or director.

- Clearance Level: Negative Vetting Level 1 (minimum) is mandatory.
