**About the role**
In this hands on role you will be leading a small team of Municipal Cleaners. responsible for the cleaning of amenity blocks, street cleaning and litter collection throughout the Geelong region. You will ensure that all tasks carried out by the team are meeting standards and operating effecticely.

Key responsibilities include:

- Provide guidance and support to a small team, and deliver training for the use of plant and equipment.
- Undertake cleaning duties including toilet, shower & changerooms, minor graffiti/stain removal, manual street cleaning and litter collection including roadside.
- Assist with the accurate recording and completion of all operational documentation that records the activities of the team
- Operating and maintaining plant and equipment in an effective and efficient manner and in compliance with relevant laws/regulations, codes of practice and City Services directives and wear and use the required personal safety equipment which will be provided.
- Maintain company vehicles in accordance with operational requirements, ensuring all cleaning materials and equipment are restocked at the end of each working day.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent communicator and enjoy interacting with a diverse range of people in the community. You will be an experienced cleaning professional with demonstrated ability to lead a team.
- Ability to perform manual work including frequent bending and lifting in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Several years experienced in working in outdoor field involving municipal maintenance particularly that of cleansing or related activities.
- Contribute to workplace improvements programs and lead team discussions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide customer service and respond positively to internal and external customers.
- The role may include, early starts, working on public holidays and weekends when rostered.

This role may include the operation of machinery and vehicles. A current driver’s licence is required. A medium rigid truck licence, and accreditation in Roadworks Signage and Weed Control is highly desirable.
