**About the role**
This role is a fantastic opportunity to assist with leading the strategic vision and program operations of the Student Support Services branch at NESA. Student Support Services assists HSC students across NSW by approving the disability provisions needed to access and respond to their exams. As the Head of Programs, Student Support Services, you will provide executive, logístical, leadership and strategic support to the branch manager and the branch. This includes managing: complex issues and matters, branch governance, program development, and direct report team members.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic and tactical support to the implementation of branch programs.
- Managing and developing branch contributions to NESA committee or Board papers, ministerial correspondence, and tribunal responses including attending conciliation conferences.
- Evaluating branch processes and providing expert advice and information to the Manager and Director on emerging project and operational issues and presenting recommendations to improve and support delivery in line with established plans, budgets, timeframes, objectives and other business priorities.
- Managing stakeholder relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management.
- Leading the development and delivery of projects, identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources to achieve required outcomes.
- Developing and implement strategies and tools for the monitoring and evaluation of branch programs, including risk management and quality assurance measures, to support program effectiveness.
- Program management experience
- People management with the ability to lead continuous improvement
- Experience supporting change management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage a high volume of complex, sensitive and time-critical matters
- Well-developed ability to research and analyse information.
- Experience using and adapting to information and communication technologies
- Public sector experience highly valued
