**About the Role**

The Unlimited Building Inspector role plays a pivotal role within the building team. The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise across various stakeholders.
- Undertake building inspections to ensure that all works are constructed in accordance with approved plans and documentation
- Ensure building compliance across all classes of building
- Document and maintain accurate records of inspections
- Act as a mentor to other staff members
- Liaise within the building department and other council departments as required
- Provide accurate technical support to the public, including counter and telephone enquiries.

**Skills & Experience**
- Current Unlimited Building Inspector/Surveyor (IN-U or BS-U) registration is required
- Demonstrated experience in this role, preferably in a local government environment, and/or in private practice in the building industry
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to provide accurate advice to the public as well as to develop relationships with builders, trades an other building professional
- Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- Computer proficiency and the ability to complete work in a digital environment
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision
- Current drivers licence, children's’ check and police check
