Process Consultant

Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is looking for a leading Process Consultant - Hydrometallurgy to join our Perth office in a full-time permanent role.

Our M&M APAC team is growing significantly, and we are working with clients internationally on developing advance processing methodologies to reach carbon footprint commitments.

**About the Role**

Based on current and future project opportunities within our Process group and the wider business, we are seeking a Process Consultant with expertise in Hydrometallurgy. This role will see you:

- Manage and execute the delivery of best practice process plant designs and associated services in designated studies, projects and consulting services
- Ensure the team maintains a leading-edge technical capability through the development of designs, industry contacts, new technologies and innovative practices
- Develop innovative solutions to complex process and technical problems for a wide range of commodities
- Provide technical guidance and advice to other functional departments and the wider organisation as required
- Ensure process designs meet required safety standards and actively participate in HAZOP studies and design reviews
- Proactively assist in identifying business opportunities and develop new and existing client relationships

Skills / Qualifications:
**About You**

Ideally you will be a Principal Process Engineer (or Consultant) with 20+ years industry experience (operations/consulting) with expertise in hydrometallurgy working with lithium, nickel, cobalt zinc etc.

As a proven leader with qualifications in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or another related field from a recognised institution, you will have:

- Extensive experience in the Mining and Minerals industry within a projects and engineering environment
- In-depth technical knowledge of process plant and autoclave design and operation
- Extensive experience with metallurgical test work and pilot plant campaigns for pressure hydrometallurgical projects
- Ability to manage risk during the design process consistent with technical and commercial requirements
- Excellent analytical, literacy and numerical skills
- Experience with process simulation software such as METSIM and/or SysCAD would be highly regarded
