**Position Information**:
Emu Plains Public School is located at the foot of the Blue Mountains serving a well-established Western Sydney suburban community with several generations of families having attended the school.

The current enrolment is 426 students with 17 mainstream classes and one multi-categorical support unit comprising of 7 students. 10% of students are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island background and 10% are from language backgrounds other than English. The Reconciliation Action Plan is regularly reviewed in consultation with the AECG to best support students, community and cultural needs.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary and demonstrated ability to build the capacity of individuals and teams as a supervisor and educational leader, balancing the dual roles of an exemplary classroom teacher and Assistant Principal.

A visible and approachable leader who demonstrates a commitment to developing a culture of inclusion, high expectations and strong partnerships.

Proven ability to work cohesively as a member of the executive team to initiate programs and to lead and implement the school improvement plan.

Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and support staff in the creative and highly effective use of technology to enhance student learning.?

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
