We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Research Accounting Team in supporting Griffith’s world-leading research.
Griffith Researchers play a prominent role in diverse research spanning from Space Exploration to Disrupting Violence, Malaria Vaccine development to Indigenous Research. This generates $100m income annually and the Research Accounting Team partners with researchers to ensure sustainable financial management and contractual and regulatory compliance.
The Research Accounting Team plays a growing role in guiding research strategy and providing greater value to research activities across Griffith - making this a great time for you to join our team.
**Job Description**:
**About the opportunity**
This role will work collaboratively with others to analyse, prioritise and solve strategic, operational and transactional finance issues and contribute to the overall development of insights to enable strategic investment decision-making.
- Facilitate contract administration (e.g. budgeting, reporting, invoicing).
- Forge trusted relationships (with parties including external funders, researchers, finance and other administrative colleagues).
- Contribute to Research Accounting projects and initiatives.
- Develop and demonstrate competency in nominated SME areas.

Technical proficiency:
- Technical experience and background in financial management, financial modelling, budgeting, analysis, reporting and process improvement.
- Eagerness to learn and further develop skills in providing strategically aligned financial insights, advice, and solutions.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Proficiency in adapting and utilising Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis, KPI reporting, ad-hoc analysis, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of diverse people and strong customer service skills.
