Bar Manager

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

True South, an iconic bayside venue located in Black Rock, is seeking an energetic and passionate Bar Manager to join our team. With stunning views right opposite the beach, our multi-faceted venue includes a public bar, dining room, private dining spaces, and an exclusive function room upstairs. Operating 7 days a week and accommodating up to 250 guests, True South is part of the JBS Hospitality & Events Group, which boasts 10 venues across Melbourne.

In this role, you'll lead the bar operations, drive team development, and help ensure the venue continues to thrive in both growth and profitability. You'll work closely with the management team to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining a smooth, efficient operation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Overseeing day-to-day bar operations, restaurant service, and function spaces
- Managing and maintaining venue systems and equipment
- Ordering stock and liaising with suppliers
- Leading by example to create a positive and cohesive team environment
- Ensuring exceptional service standards to create memorable guest experiences
- Managing opening and closing procedures
- Supporting the Venue Manager in all operational and strategic aspects

- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with staff and guests

**QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS**
- Valid RSA certification
- Availability across days, evenings, and weekends
- At least 2 years’ experience in a bar/restaurant management role
- Strong knowledge of beers, wines, and cocktails
- Familiarity with bar booking systems and basic computer skills
- A valid Australian work visa

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability
