A position has become available for a Graduate Accountant at our office located in Banyo Queensland.
Working as a Graduate Accountant, you will be tasked with meaningful and important work for the financial security of the business. This is a relatively autonomous position that will allow you to establish your future with our diversified business that has locations in Brisbane, Perth and regional Western Australia.
Supported by the Financial Officer and off-site CPA qualified Accountant you will conduct a wide variety of accounting and finance duties to enable you to grow your skills, knowledge and understanding.
Regular duties would include;
- All aspects of accounts payable and receivable
- Monthly and annual budgets and forecasts
- Bank reconciliations
- Daily Cashflow
- General Ledger and Balance Sheet Reconciliation to Trial Balance
- Assist with Payroll transactions
- Preparation of BAS and Payroll Tax
- Updating the Asset Written Down Value Report
- Preparation of Government Fuel Tax Rebate
- Preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax
- Daily data entry into Cheops and MYOB
- Assisting with Administrative Functions
- Spreadsheet Maintenance
- Month End / Year End Reporting
- Inventory transaction processing, reconciliation, stocktaking and reporting
- Asset register maintenance
- Adhoc support and backup for other Administration functions (AP/AR etc)
**About you**
To be considered for this role, you will need to have completed a recognised degree from an Australian tertiary institution.
Applicants with 1-2 years prior experience may also be considered for this role.
- Willingness to learn and carry out a wide variety of tasks
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Sound computer skills in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word
- Excellent knowledge and experience using MYOB, CHEOPS would be an advantage, however, is not a requirement as training can be provided.
- A methodical and organised approach to work with attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- A proactive, positive approach to daily duties
