We have an exciting casual Disability Coach positions available to join our Access and Equity team at TAFE Queensland's Ipswich, Toowoomba and Kingaroy Campuses.
As the Disability Coach you will implement AccessAbility plans and conduct assigned sessions to assist and coach learners with a disability to consolidate their learning and manage the impact of a disability on their learning.
This position reports to the Access and Equity Coordinator.
Salary
Operational Officer Level 4 (OO4) $45.67 gross per hour (TAFE Queensland (TAFE Services employees) Certified Agreement 2022)
Mandatory Requirements
**Applicants must possess the following**:
Nil
Highly Desirable
Possession of TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or recognised equivalent qualification, or willingness to obtain.
Knowledge or experience in the vocational area in which you are coaching.
Experience supporting learners with a disability which may include ASD, sensory, physical and mental health needs.
Knowledge and experience of, or ability to quickly acquire skills with Assistive Technologies

How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Self-management, participative decision-making, team participation and the ability to accept, promote and manage change.
Instructional effectiveness including knowledge of contemporary disability practice, quality student interaction and effective preparation.
Promotion of inclusive delivery practice by contributing to course planning and development through participation and contribution to the learners support plan.
Commitment to self-development with the focus on instructional skills, technology, skills update and contemporary disability practices.
Application of knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles and objectives that underpin anti-discrimination legislation with particular reference to the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, Disability Standards for Education 2005, Disability Services Act 2006 and departmental policies and guidelines that are relevant to disability services.
