**Our Team and Opportunity**

Vanguard’s Global Investment Data Management (GIDM) team has Investment Data Analyst opportunity open in Melbourne. You will provide Index and Reference data domain-aligned support to our Investment Management Group (IMG) and Enterprise Investment Services (EIS), and other enterprise data clients and stakeholders to improve investment decisions and fund oversight. You will also serve as the point of contact for investment data related inquires and partner with internal teams to ensure integrity of index and security reference data

**Responsibilities**
- Be responsible for timely and accurate delivery of index and security reference investment data under tight deadlines, while managing competing priorities and analyzing multiple inputs to meet operational objectives.
- Enable target index construction, portfolio modelling, and investment risk management through continuous monitoring and scrutiny of index constituent changes, corporate events, and security issuance.
- Provides oversight of operational activities and reviews data flows across systems for accuracy and completeness. Performs root cause analyses of data errors. Identify opportunities to eliminate future occurrences and recommends short and long-term solutions for issues. Provides advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Recommends changes that will enhance work-flows and procedures. Integrates new or existing technologies into work-flows and communicates to all team members. Analyzes impacts and prepares environment for change.
- Develop a strong and consistent knowledge of index methodologies and security taxonomies, and understand the details driving the global operational processes and the downstream impacts. Leverage product and operational knowledge to aid in the production of best-in-class investment data.
- Works with internal and external partners, external vendors, and industry contacts to enable best-in-class data management practices. Supports the research and development of new business products and services.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of three years of related work experience. - Undergraduate degree (preferably in accounting, finance, economics or related filed) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Strong analytical ability, research-driven problem solving, and time / attention management skills required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a distributed team environment.
- Strong judgment and ability to analyze issues and make quality decisions under pressure.
- Strong, demonstrated problem identification, analysis, and resolution skills.
- Advanced knowledge and skills using current versions of the Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of VBA, SQL or Python is a significant plus.
