**About the Role**
An exciting opportunity is opening for a maintenance planner for our Feedlots, it is a full-time role and responsible for our feedlots. The annual salary for this role is not less than $73,150.00 plus superannuation.
The maintenance planer is responsible for a wide range of engineering and maintenance activities associated with the operations of multiple cattle feedlots. The maintenance planner develops and implements long-term and short-term maintenance plans for all mechanical and electrical equipment to optimize feedlot safety, quality, equipment availability, and reliability outcomes. The role provides direction and guidance to the feedlot maintenance team members to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of the electrical and mechanical assets. Additionally, the role identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities in processes, systems, and equipment, and manages nominated capital projects.
Reporting to the feedlot engineer, this is a leadership position within the maintenance team. The position is hands-on, requires extensive maintenance and equipment knowledge, provides equipment solutions using sound maintenance principles, and requires the ability to lead and develop maintenance crew team members. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Facilitate maintenance to ensure production requirements are met.
- Ensure all requested and scheduled tasks are investigated, planned, executed, completed, and closed out on time and on budget.
- Prepare and order necessary spare parts and materials for planned tasks.
- Monitor spare parts holdings and the condition of critical spares.
- Develop and maintain the sap pm equipment register (functional locations).
- Monitor maintenance employee timesheets and follow up on any comments and recommendations.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor completion of maintenance work orders.
- Program and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate all major repair tasks in conjunction with the feedlot engineer.
- Ensure all documentation and schematics are securely retained, updated, and maintained as required.
- Coordinate teams of trades and non-trades personnel and external contractors.
- Ensure company procedures are supported and adhered to, i.e., permits to work, hot work permits, isolation and locking out, risk assessments, live work procedures, incident reporting, etc.
- Support, coordinate, and control ongoing maintenance and capital works planning and coordination functions for all areas of the feedlot.
- Facilitate and develop the processes required to analyze downtime.
- Produce actions to fix root cause and prevent failures from reoccurring.
- Development of effective contractor management systems including performance auditing.
- Assist in the delivery of projects and maintenance services.
- Implement minor projects and commissioning.
- Resolve issues and improve the existing and future feedlot systems.
- Develop systems and practices to maximize the benefit of the sap pm maintenance management system.
- Communicate with operations personnel on maintenance issues.
- Provide in-house training to other staff on the planning and scheduling systems.
- Organize and schedule maintenance training as required.
- Provide information for maintenance management reporting.
- Dealing with a multitude of tasks and demands at the one time with limited resources.
- Dealing with a wide range of people with varying levels of skills.
- Identifying and implementing solutions to quickly address feedlot breakdowns.
About you:
- A thorough understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures using sap pm.
- A thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices.
- Advanced electrical or mechanical trade or post-trade qualifications and experience.
- Experience in maintenance in a feedlot environment, desired but not essential.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate employees.
- The ability to lead and motivate people to continuously improve.
- Experience gained from a large heavy industrial organization.
- Extensive computer skills.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
