**The Opportunity**
The NSW regional office, located in Nowra is looking for an Assistant Director Engagement for a key leadership position within the ENSW Branch Leadership Team. This position includes delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide ranging activities. The Assistant Director Engagement works with a considerable degree of independence, under broad direction from the Director.
They are responsible for planning and delivering aspects of the branch work program, reporting on progress against performance and quality indicators and for ensuring that performance measures for the team are met. The Assistant Director Engagement contributes to the development of branch strategic plans and leads the development of business cases and project plans for new initiatives.
The role provides expertise across a broad range of activities including customer service delivery, policy development, project management and will also include the following:
- driving the implementation of branch strategic planning, through close engagement with key partners, stakeholders and internal colleagues
- developing effective strategic partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders including First Nations peoples, community partners, business and organisations
- managing stakeholder expectations of the NIAA work program, priorities and program change while considering local and cultural sensitives and stakeholder business imperatives
- leading and supporting employee performance and contribution to regional results
- demonstrated high level capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
They will be knowledgeable about the key issues faced by First Nations peoples and have sound judgement, professionalism and the capacity to work flexibly and responsively to achieve results.
They will have demonstrated experience working with Elders and key stakeholders from across the region to build capacity and promote joint partnerships and place-based solutions and opportunities.
They will be committed to creating a culturally safe workplace by fostering an environment where the concept of culture and how it influences the workplace and interactions, is understood and celebrated.
