About the role

**Some of the key responsibilities of the role are**:
As prescribed by the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015, and the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health and Department of Education) Certified Agreement (EB11) 2022.
Accountability and Responsibility
- Is responsible for delegated healthcare practice and to the accountable registered nurse/registered midwife for all activities of care.
- Is responsible for accepting delegated tasks/duties which require basic skills, training and experience.

Skills and Knowledge
- Applies all training to standardised practices and procedures, as delegated.

Role in clinical care
- Performs a range of duties that require basic skills, knowledge, training and experience.
- Performance of patient care needs such as:

- Gathers information about patient care needs by observing the patient and reporting to the registered nurse / midwife to assist the registered nurse / midwife in assessing, planning and evaluating care.
- Performs and reports on outcomes of care delivery as delegated by the registered nurse/registered midwife.
- Assists with the personal hygiene and appearance of the recipients of healthcare services.

About you
- Beginning knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and the ability to seek assistance to appropriately manage patient-centred care requirements under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife.
- Honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
- Supports and respects the multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively and demonstrating a commitment to achieve common goals.
- Ability to work as a team member to achieve clinical and organisational goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively in individual and group situations.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
