Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report. **Project Overview**: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world. **Job Summary**: As Piping Designer, you will use 2-D/3-D computer-aided design (CAD) to develop designs for Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, and foundation. You will help construct detailed scale models, develop work plans, and review drawings for quality, accuracy, and completion. Your collaboration across disciplines will help ensure PD&P design quality and compliance. **Major Responsibilities**: - Develops designs for complete and complex PD&P engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed. - Assists in constructing detailed scale models. - Ensures compliance with approved PD&P design standards in own work and by those assigned, to provide quality design. Ensures PD&P systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards. - Reviews and checks calculations, design models, drawings and design documents prepared by assigned designers/drafters for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality and satisfactory completion - Participates in constructability reviews. - Possesses responsibility for the accuracy of bulk material quantity take-offs and material requisitions for materials applicable to the discipline. - Other responsibilities as designated. **Education and Experience Requirements**: - Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience **Required Knowledge and Skills**: - Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. - Experience with multi discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight. - Expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
