**Position Overview**:
The **NDIS Behaviour Coach** plays a vital role in delivering training and coaching to support workers, carers, and families to ensure the safe, consistent, and effective implementation of **NDIS Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)**. This role is part of our commitment to ethical, person-centred, and trauma-informed support under the **NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework**.

The Behaviour Coach works closely with Behaviour Support Practitioners, participants, and their support networks to embed strategies in everyday routines, reduce restrictive practices, and promote quality of life and positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver individual and group-based **evidence-based training** to support workers and families on BSP implementation
- Coach support networks in understanding the function of behaviour and responding using positive, proactive strategies
- Demonstrate practical techniques for managing behaviours of concern in real-life environments (home, community, SIL)
- Reinforce strategies that support skill building, communication, and environmental modifications
- Support the ongoing monitoring and refinement of BSP strategies in collaboration with the BSP practitioner
- Provide feedback to the Behaviour Support team on training effectiveness and implementation progress
- Promote trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive approaches in all interactions
- Ensure training is aligned with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission expectations, including guidance on restrictive practices
- Maintain clear records of training delivered and progress updates for internal and NDIS reporting
- Work collaboratively with family, therapists, schools, and other professionals in the participant’s support network

Key Selection Criteria:
**Essential**:

- Qualification in Certificate IV in Disability, Education, Social Work, Allied Health or related field
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with disability, particularly those with complex behaviours of concern
- Sound understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and BSP implementation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to train and coach a wide range of audiences
- Commitment to human rights, participant choice and control, and trauma-informed care
- Ability to adapt communication and teaching strategies to meet diverse cultural, developmental and cognitive needs
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, and valid driver’s licence
- Current First Aid and CPR certification

**Desirable**:

- Experience in training delivery, mentoring or support coordination
- Familiarity with NDIS Practice Standards and restrictive practice reporting
- Lived experience or cultural understanding relevant to First Nations communities or CALD groups
