We currently have a key role for a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor - Manufacturing and Support based at our Edinburgh Parks, SA offices.

**Your new role**:
In this role, you will support the program and line of business through the provision of specialist advice, support, coaching and mentorship of Modern Safety principles and practices to continually improve the safety, health and environmental culture and performance, to promote a culture of ‘caring' and meet legal obligations.

**This opportunity will see you**:

- Participate, collaborate, coach and consult with teams and Leaders to ensure they are engaged and aligned to SHE strategic priorities, and have the right tools and equipment to safely do their job and have the confidence and ability to manage safety, health and environmental obligations and risks.
- Coach Leaders and teams to foster a Psychologically Safe Culture with a learning mindset
- Support the implementation, review and continuous development of BAE Systems safety management system, including risk assessments, safe work method statements (SWMS), risk registers SOPs and training programs.
- Facilitate site safety, health and environmental event and near-miss response, reporting and investigation procedures concerning significant hazards, injuries and incidents to ensure accurate and timely response and data analysis.
- Facilitate the development of key learnings from local incidents and hazards and ensure they are communicated, through the SHE Lead, to the broader business, to enhance the organisation's learning culture.
- Coordinate assurance activities and programs in line with the SHE Strategy to verify and validate the integrity and effectiveness of SHE risk controls.
- Support the development and delivery of SHE improvement plans and initiatives
- Support the maintenance and administration of the SHE risk register for the program, line of business or region.
- Provision of regular SHE reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this role, you'll have**:

- Australian Citizenship, and be eligible to obtain and maintain a defence security clearance.
- Previous experience in SHE in a similar role in a large and complex organisation.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant WHS and Environmental legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements.
- Experience in the management of safety, health and environment in a high risk work environment/industry (i.e. defence, mining, construction, manufacturing etc).
- WHS Diploma, and/or tertiary qualifications in WHS and Environmental or related discipline (Desired).
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills, with a learning mind-set and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent IT and administrative skills and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance.
As a Defence contractor, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
