Redland City Council is looking for a committed individual to undertake a fulltime traineeship within Civil Construction.

Gain practical work experience and study towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in Civil Construction. Leave your mark on the development of local community infrastructure, get your hands dirty, and earn while you learn with this rewarding and entry level apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities:
- Site preparation and excavation-
- Undertake road repairs including pothole filling and asphalt placement-
- Level base and surface materials-
- Various concreting formwork and finishing-
- Install safety barriers and traffic management-
- Operate plant machinery and use power toolsWe’re looking for individuals who:
- Enjoy working in the outdoors and working with garden tools-
- Are committed, reliable and hardworking-
- Manage and prioritise time and tasks effectively-
- Work effectively in a team with good communication skills-
- Have a can-do attitude, and display initiative-
- Are able to follow directions and work under limited supervisionRole Requirements:
- Provisional or full driver’s licence and own vehicle (required)-
- Physically fit and healthy due to manual labour work-
- Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment, including a drug and alcohol test-
- Previous experience in construction or similar advantageous.
