**Position Information**:
Rockdale Public School is located in the southern part of Sydney within the Bayside local government area. The school serves a diverse and multicultural community of 330 students, 94% come from language backgrounds other than English.
The school community is proud of its cultural diversity which is reflected in all aspects of school organisation, planning and programming.
Rockdale Public School is supported by a dedicated team of teaching and non-teaching staff who collaborate to achieve a shared vision of improving educational outcomes for all students. The school maintains a rigorous focus on enhancing literacy and numeracy outcomes while catering to the individual needs of every student.
As a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school, it encourages all students to be safe, respectful and engaged learners.
The school has fostered strong positive relationships with the broader community, providing opportunities for parents and community members to actively participate in and contribute to students' education and wellbeing. These opportunities include a P&C Association, Before & After School Care services, and an onsite Wellbeing and Health In-reach Nurse.
**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach K-6 Nepali Community Language with knowledge of the Modern Language syllabus outcomes and ability to teach Nepali language and culture.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of effective teaching practice and the use of assessment to cater to the diverse range of learners.
Effective interpersonal skills with the capacity to actively collaborate with students, staff and the wider community to support student outcomes and promote a positive school culture including extra-curricular activities and cultural events.
Demonstrated capacity to establish and implement classroom routines and behaviour management strategies and wellbeing programs to engage and support all students.
