About the role
Working in partnership with patients, families and other healthcare disciplines, Bereavement Services contribute to the health and wellbeing of family members and friends of patients admitted to the Community Palliative Care Service (CPCS) and the in inpatient unit at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem (CHCB).
**Note**: at present, bereavement care is not routinely provided in the State-wide Progressive Neurological Diseases Service (SPNDS) as the patient’s local health care team is responsible for bereavement care of these families and friends.

Bereavement Counselling is provided face to face and online in both group and individual sessions. Bereavement Services also work with the Pastoral care team to provide Remembrance Services for family and friends of CHCB patients and Remembering Lives sessions for CHCB staff.
