**The opportunity**
ASIO is seeking cleaners to take care of our facilities (including floors, surfaces, restrooms and common spaces) to the highest standards. We offer flexible working arrangements, including casual day shifts, part-time or full-time arrangements.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
**Role responsibilities**
As an AE2 Cleaner in ASIO, you will work individually and as part of a team to perform a range of duties including:
- Sweeping floors.
- Vacuuming hard and soft surfaces.
- Carpet steam cleaning and extraction.
- Mopping hard surfaces.
- Buffing and scrubbing floors.
- Cleaning and polishing office furniture.
- Cleaning wet areas.
- Glass cleaning.
- Low
- and high-level dusting.
- High pressure cleaning.
- Emptying waste and recyclable rubbish from kitchen areas.
- Removing stains.
- Maintaining stocks in service areas (soap, towels, toilet paper etc).
As an AE3 Leading Hand of Cleaning Services in ASIO, you will work individually and as part of a team to perform a range of duties including:
- Supervising all cleaning services.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the interior of ASIO's facilities is maintained to a high standard.
- Assigning the day to day/relief tasks for cleaning staff (if required).
- Ensuring compliance with WHS provisions (PPE, manual handling, safe use of chemicals, working at heights etc.).
- Ensuring cleaning equipment is serviced and maintained regularly.
- Managing orders of consumables and equipment.
- Undertaking day-to-day general cleaning tasks as required.
- Regularly liaising with facilities services staff.
- Managing any administrative processes required to support cleaning services.
- Escorting cleaners/contractors without security clearances as required.
**What you will bring**
- A reasonable fitness level for walking, bending and reaching activities, and the ability to lift objects up to 10 kilograms.
- Discretion when present in work spaces.
- An understanding and awareness of health and safety procedures, for example manual handling, safe use of chemicals, working at heights and hazard identification.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Effective time management.
- A flexible approach to work hours and location.
- Personal drive and motivation.
- A willingness to learn new tasks.
- Excellent communication and client engagement skills.

- An Australian citizen.
- Assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.
