**Who are we?**

The Faculty of Health is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creativity, social development, and groundbreaking research and discovery. We work closely with industry partners and government bodies to translate discoveries into real-word impact. This role will specifically be working within the School of Health & Social Development.

**About the role**:
The Lecturer, in Social will lead unit teaching teams in UG and/or PG programs to deliver unit learning outcomes and continuously improve the student learning experience and outcomes. They will initiate, design and conduct productive, high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs in their discipline area. The Lecturer may lead and research activities and is expected to engage collaboratively to develop novel research outcomes. The appointee will promote the School and maintain links and partnerships with relevant academic, industry and professional communities and make an independent contribution to the School’s teaching, research, and program development.

**As a Lecturer in Social Work, you will**:

- Lead and collaborate with teaching teams to develop, review, and refine unit curricula, ensuring effective learning resources and student success.
- Design and deliver innovative, learner-centric, and inclusive teaching practices, integrating research and industry knowledge to enhance engagement across diverse delivery modes.
- Develop and implement effective assessment tasks, provide timely feedback, and support diverse learners with accessible and inclusive materials and practices.
- Support student success through academic guidance and contribute to a culture of educational excellence by mentoring colleagues and building teaching capability.
- Engage in educational research and scholarship, integrating pedagogical advancements into teaching while pursuing professional development, such as completing relevant certifications.

**To be successful, you’ll have**:

- PhD or a Masters in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications and experience
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design
- Emerging reputation in research and scholarship through publications and/or exhibitions and/or success in obtaining external research funding.
- Ability to contribute to communities through research.
- Capacity to contribute to leadership of research and administration.
