**Description**:
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Quality Control Officer to join our commercial operations in Brisbane Markets, Rocklea. In this role, you will be responsible to perform variety of quality checks of our fresh produce prior to shipment and deliveries to our clients.
This role reports directly to the Distribution Centre / Warehouse Manager. Please note that this is a shift work between 04:00AM - 11:00AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance with quality standards and regulations.
- Conduct inspections and audits of production processes, materials, components, and finished products or services to identify quality issues, defects, or non-conformities.
- Review specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to understand quality requirements, tolerances, and acceptance criteria for products or services.
- Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests using precision tools, equipment, and instruments to verify product dimensions, appearance, and functionality.
- Collect and analyse quality data, metrics, and performance indicators to evaluate process capabilities, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document and report quality findings, deviations, and corrective actions taken, maintaining accurate records, logs, and inspection reports for traceability and accountability.
- Collaborate with production teams, engineers, and suppliers to address quality issues, resolve discrepancies, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to prevent recurrence.

Essential requirements
Understanding of Food Safety and/or HACCP Framework
Demonstrated organisational skills and a methodical approach to work
Excellent team working and communication skills
Practical knowledge and experience working in a warehouse/distribution facility
Work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines
Ability to comply with and support workplace health and safety requirements
Knowledge of and experience in the fresh produce industry.
Team player / works well within a diverse team.

- Computer literacy in MS Office, especially Excel
- Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service with the ability to build sound professional relationships
- A positive mental attitude and optimistic approach to work
- Flexible and adaptive with a strong willingness to learn, grow, and develop self and others

- Ability to work autonomously with flexibility around working hours
