The Role:
Casual position from August to September
23 hours per week
Monday - Friday

Some of your primary duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Assist with the integration of specified students by direct support, either 1:1 or in small groups
- Assist with skill development to enable students to participate in classroom activities
- Provide explicit and targeted support to enable student to meet specific goals, set out in an ILP or specified by an external professional, such as Speech or Occupational Therapist
- Clarify and assist with tasks to enable access to the curriculum
- Assist with mobility, specified self-care activities, physical activity and exercise, development of social skills and preparation and maintenance of specific equipment as required

About You
- Appropriate understanding of the educational, social and emotional needs of students with high support needs, particularly students with High Functioning Autism (ASD) and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Form supportive relationships with students with high support needs
- Work effectively with students with high support needs to enable access to the curriculum
- Interact positively with students with high support needs and their peers
- Capacity to work sensitively and collaboratively with members of the Learning Diversity team
- Awareness of sensitive issues and capacity to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to student learning and wellbeing
- Effective planning and organisational skills
- Proven competence with use of technology in a learning environment
- Acts professionally and maintains appropriate confidentiality
- Right to work in Australia
- Adherence to all College policies and demonstration of behaviours in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.
