As the Assistant Team Leader for the South East you’ll be responsible for the safe delivery of inspections, maintenance, and renewals tasks through effective self-performance. You’ll help lead the performance of works on our Infrastructure assets, finding solutions to improve productivity whilst ensuring all work performed is strictly in accordance with policies and procedures, such as OH&S.
You’ll have strong accountable leadership of your team, coaching and developing staff to build capability, and you’ll also embody the values set out by MTM, ensuring your team behaves in accordance with them.
This position will be working on an 8 on/6 off roster on rotating day and afternoon shifts, allowing for the ability for 2 days overtime at the business’ discretion. This is not a night shift role, but you will have the option of volunteering for overtime, working 9.5 hour shifts again at the business’ discretion.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Lead repairs, maintenance and renewals of infrastructure assets with the team’s discipline.-
- Attend to incidents and faults when escalated, providing support to the Skilled Operatives to rectify as quickly as possible.-
- Investigate and prepare technical, administration or any incident report associated with the performance of works.-
- Complete all necessary reports, material returns, timesheets, requisitions and claim forms.-
- Ensure supply and distribution of necessary materials, planning resources to ensure works are delivered as efficiently as possible.-
- Manage depot vehicle maintenance and calibration of tools, ensuring all tools are tagged and tested.-
- Lead the team, coaching and developing staff to building capability of the Skilled Operatives and Works Assistants.-
- Lead daily pre-work and post-work meetings, driving performance outputs of the team.-
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with policies and regulations.**About you**:
- Train Track Safety Awareness Certificate - mandatory.-
- Rail Infrastructure (Rail Maintenance) Cert III - mandatory.-
- TLIF2082 Perform Hand Signaller duties - mandatory.-
- 5 years track work experience - mandatory.-
- Track Force Protection Coordinator - desirable.-
- Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s license - desirable.-
- License to operate at least one of the following - desirable-
- Loader-
- Excavator-
- Hi-Rail vehicle-
- First Aid Certificate Level 2 - desirable.-
