**How will I help?**
This is an exciting opportunity to join Westpac’s Group Treasury team as an Associate Director. Your role will include supporting the management of Australian interest rate risk in the CIO trading book and manage an efficient strategy for the effective hedging of interest rate risk across product, counterparties and within market risk limits.
The role will contribute to variety of duties, including:
- Day to day booking, reconciliation, and execution of transactions
- Execute required transactions in a timely efficient and considered manner.
- Responsibility for the timeliness of risk capture within approved product systems.
- Management of all Australian risk limits and discussions with market risk
- Management and implementation of Sydney Treasury current and future regulatory requirements
- Pursue further portfolio simplification by leading change by reducing manual processes and operational risk.
- Accountable for AUD short end to ensure risk managed effectively and accurately. Understand changes in the balance sheet and the impacts for Sydney treasury.
- Assist with trade bookings and business as usual tasks, including for other books such as IMM and collateral when needed
- Stay up to date with the regulatory shifts impacting the business to ensure the business is compliant with internal & external requirements and regulations.
- Demonstrate and promote ‘One Westpac’ team behaviours with the aim to facilitate greater internal communication and performance outcomes across lines of business.

**What do I need?**
**Ideally you will bring**:
- Excellent understanding of Treasury cash and funding process and controls and liquidity management across the Group, to drive consistency and alignment across International.
- A strong understanding of balance sheet management and funding tools and funding risk. Sound knowledge of liquidity management tools, regulatory requirements such as LCR and NSFR.
- Ability to drive great interactions between Treasury and other business areas, to drive simplification and digitalization agenda.
- Comprehensive understanding of the specific front office product systems. A strong understanding of financial market derivatives and other products.
- A good understanding of accounting and knowledge of the settlement and finance processes at Westpac. A good understanding of how to manage the interest rate risk of the customer balance sheet.
- Attention to detail for funding and liquidity management and regulatory compliance.
- Self-motivated, highly engaged with other offices, to drive and implement change. High sense of self-accountability and responsibility.
