We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscape Labourer to join our team in Highfields. As a Landscape Labourer, you will play a crucial role in assisting our team of landscapers in the successful completion of various landscaping projects. This position requires a strong background in landscaping and labouring, as well as a passion for creating visually appealing outdoor spaces.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Assist in the installation and maintenance of landscape elements such as plantings, hardscapes, irrigation systems, and outdoor structures.
2. Prepare and grade landscapes, including excavation, backfilling, and compacting soil.
3. Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
4. Assist in the construction of pathways, patios, and retaining walls using various materials like concrete, bricks, and natural stones.
5. Plant, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, and flowers, ensuring proper spacing, depth, and irrigation.
6. Assist in the installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems, including laying pipes, adjusting sprinkler heads, and programming controllers.
7. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, mulching, and fertilizing lawns and gardens.
8. Operate machinery and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools safely and efficiently.
9. Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
10. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure all landscaping requirements and expectations are met.
**Requirements**:
1. Proven experience as a Landscape Labourer or similar role within the landscaping industry.
2. Strong knowledge of landscaping techniques, materials, and equipment.
3. Ability to operate and maintain landscaping machinery and tools.
4. Proficiency in performing manual labour tasks, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and working in various weather conditions.
5. Sound knowledge of plant identification, planting techniques, and maintenance practices.
6. Familiarity with irrigation systems and their installation and maintenance.
7. Excellent physical stamina and ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
8. Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
9. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
10. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
11. Current Valid White Card
12. Current working with children Blue Card or willing to obtain one.
