**About Us**

Victorian Croatian Aged Care Services (VCACS) is currently completing the construction of a 100-bed residential aged care facility in Bell Park, Geelong. Our goal is to provide quality caring services for the ageing with dignity and respect, care, and support for each resident as an individual, in the tradition of the Croatian Australian community. This facility will require commissioning, together with business and service models developed and implemented to ensure ongoing high quality of care and sustainability.

We are seeking experienced and skilled Food Service Assistants for full time, part time and casual roles to join our brand-new aged care home in Geelong.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Food preparation such as; salads, simple deserts and sandwiches, heating, serving, presentation and delivery of meals, snacks and drinks in accordance with the Food Safety Program (FSP), menu, recipes and individual consumer’s needs and preferences and relevant Duty Statement/s
- Correct preparation of texture-modified foods and thickened fluids
- Collection and washing of used dishes and other items
- Cleaning according to the cleaning schedule
- Assisting with the monitoring and recording requirements of the Food Safety Program for example, recording temperatures, signing the cleaning schedule when cleaning is completed, documenting the receival of goods
- Ensures the dining room and table settings are set according to the seating planner and in a way that contributes to an enjoyable dining experience.
- Contributes to menu planning to meet consumer needs and preferences

**_What you need:_**
- Previous experience working in Health Care environments (Aged Care, Retirement Living, Hospitals)
- Experience of working in a kitchen environment and knowledge of general kitchen operations or Aged Care
- Food Hygiene Certificate or Cert III in Individual Support
- Passion for caring for the elderly
- Strong communicator and hard worker
- A current police check or the ability to obtain.
- Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia.
- Evidence that you have had the 2020 Flu Vaccination or willingness to complete this before employment can be offered*
- _The Australian Government has advised that all residential aged care staff and visiting workers should be vaccinated by 1 May 2020. This includes both current and future Cro Care employees._

**Job Types**: Part-time, Full-time

**Salary**: $22.70 - $29.81 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 24 per week
