Round Bird Can't Fly is an iconic, long standing café situated at the gateway to the beautiful Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. We are well renowned both locally and afar for the high quality food and service that we provide. Our small, esteemed venue has been featured in the Age, the Herald Sun, Qantas epiqure, Yarra Ranges Lifestyle magazine, and Delicious magazine to name a few.

Our café makes everything in house, and our small but skilled team in the kitchen are looking for one more person to help them continue producing high quality meals.

As a cafe all rounder your role contributes to the timely fulfilment of our production targets, while strictly adhering to high Food Safety.

**A few must haves for this role include**:

- Efficient team player that shows respect to co-workers and managers
- Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to be resourceful.

**About the role**

Reporting to our Head chef and Front of House Manager, you will be responsible for kitchen hygiene, basic prep tasks, running food and beverage and clearing tables.

The general responsibilities of the role include:

- Help in the preparation of food
- Help maintain the hygiene of the kitchen
- Help keep the quality and efficiency of our table service at a high standard
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
- Foster sound relationships with front of house staff and kitchen staff
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers
- Report all equipment breakdowns or failures to management
- Any other duties as required by the Head Chef and Front of House Manager
