**About the opportunity**:

We want you to join our team as a **Plumbing Installations Inspector** in Office of the Technical Regulator, Department for Energy and Mining.
As a Plumbing Installations Inspector, you'll play a crucial role in upholding public safety and the integrity of plumbing systems across the state. You’ll inspect and verify plumbing installations in both residential and commercial properties, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
**About us**:
The Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) monitors and regulates the safety and technical standards for electrical, gas and plumbing installations, as well as electricity, gas, water and sewerage network infrastructure.
The OTR carries out an extensive range of activities. These activities oversee the administration, compliance and performance of individuals, businesses and organisations that operate in these industries. This is to protect the work, the workers, and the public.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
- Conduct site inspections of plumbing installations in new builds, renovations, and upgrades.
- Assess plumbing systems for compliance with South Australian standards and regulations.
- Review plumbing plans and specifications to ensure adherence to codes.
- Liaise with contractors, builders, and property owners to discuss inspection results.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure that all work meets safety, environmental, and legislative standards.
**Essential Qualifications**:
- South Australian Plumbing Trade qualification of a full (unrestricted) plumbing workers licence or equivalent interstate or overseas. Alternatively, to be considered for the position the applicant must be willing to upgrade an existing plumbing license within set timeframes.
- Accreditations to conduct mechanical backflow device testing.
**Remuneration**:
OPS5, $82,090 to $87758 per annum
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week
