**Role Summary**:
The **Head of Renewable Construction** is a newly created opportunity in our Future Energy business unit based at our Perth CBD office.
The role is part of senior leadership in Future Energy that is responsible for the renewable and storage asset lifecycle from feasibility through to asset management to meet Synergy’s strategic plan of reducing carbon emissions by 80% and supporting our customer’s energy transition. The role is accountable for leading the construction phase, from final investment decision to commercial operation.
**Key responsibilities of the role include**:
- Accountable for implementation and management of all aspects of the delivery of the construction assets from final investment decision through to handover to the Operations team
- Oversee project delivery teams in design and construction phases, managing day to day delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Oversight and reporting on the overall program of assets under construction, including performance against project budgets and cost to complete, schedule and milestone tracking, resource planning and performance against KPIs
- Develop project delivery processes in accordance with Synergy’s capital projects governance framework.
- Develop project delivery capability for different delivery models including engineer, procurement, construction, and management capability.
**What you’ll bring**:
- Tertiary degree qualifications in Engineering or Construction / Project Management
- Broad 10+ years’ experience in strategic operations management and project delivery in energy or utilities industry
- Extensive experience managing substantial operational expenditure budgets
- Experienced at leading large teams across multiple locations and through complex processes
- Technical knowledge and skills to manage industrial engineering projects including design and construction contracts.
