**Your new role**

As an Excellence & Impact Partner, you will play a crucial role in driving research excellence and embedding a culture of impact across the University. You will deliver specialised services within the Research Excellence and Impact Unit, supporting the implementation of the University's research strategy. Your primary focus will be providing high-quality, expert support to researchers, university staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring they receive accurate guidance on research excellence, impact activities, and engagement opportunities.

In this role, some of the key areas you will be responsible for are:

- **Support Strategy Development**: Assist the ADVC Research and Lead in creating and implementing excellence and impact strategies to maximise research impact at various levels within the University.
- **Provide Advisory Services**: Provide expert advice and recommendations on excellence and impact strategies to enhance awareness of external opportunities across the University community throughout the research lifecycle.
- **Facilitate Training and Development**: Develop and coordinate training activities, including guidance notes and workshops, to support researchers in identifying, communicating, and delivering research impact effectively. Support researchers to develop strong impact case studies.
- **Manage Policies and Systems**: Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures that support the dissemination and assessment of research excellence and impact.
- **Data Capture and Reporting**: Collaborate and facilitate data capture and evidence collection related to Engagement and Impact.

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of research excellence and impact in the higher education sector and enjoy problem-solving with both qualitative and quantitative data. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Prior demonstrable experience in research management, impact assessment, or related roles in higher education is essential. In-depth knowledge of Engagement and Impact (EI) frameworks, as well as current trends in research excellence and impact, will be highly regarded.

**Selection Criteria**:
Essential:

- Completion of, or progress towards, a postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- A strong understanding of the assessment of research performance in the higher education sector.
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills to liaise effectively with and influence a wide range of people at all levels both within and external to the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, exercise critical judgment and identify new ways to support business strategy
- Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information to provide evidence of the impact of research.
- High level written and presentation skills with demonstrated experience in developing proposals and professional reports.
- High level of organisational and time management skills with the ability to coordinate diverse tasks within specified timeframes in a high-pressure environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a large multifunctional team environment.

Desirable**:

- Previous experience in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans to capture progress towards and delivery of impact.
- Previous experience within a research environment.
