We're on the hunt for a motivated, engaged Database Administrator to support, maintain and operate a range of database systems within Vix’s Solution Delivery division. This opportunity will suit someone that loves a variety of responsibilities, working across multiple service streams and collaborating with likeminded people.

**What will you be responsible for?**
- Design, implementation and maintenance of
- Production database clusters
- Database test environments
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategies
- Database monitoring
- Provision of professional services to internal stakeholders and Vix customers
- Responding to and resolving database incidents and problems
- Creation and maintenance of internal documentation including the operational knowledge base
- Suggesting improvements to working practices
- Mentorship of other staff
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of ITIL concepts
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of teams and individuals
- 2+ years’ experience in a DBA role
- Working knowledge of Oracle
- Working knowledge of Apache Cassandra

**Desirable**:

- Any relevant ITIL qualification
- Degree level qualification
- Oracle, MSSQL certifications
- Apache Cassandra qualification or professional training
- Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
- Significant experience with OracleDB and Apache Cassandra
- Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate, Active Data Guard, Oracle RAC
- Change and ITIL management experience and/or certification (eg Problem, Incident, Release and Deployment)
