**Merchandise/Retail Buyer**

This is a full-time position and will be based at our premises located at 212 South Terrace, Bankstown NSW 2200.

We are an established and reputable business who has been serving the local Bankstown community and supplying both retail and wholesale products including continental groceries, bakery, fruit and vegetables amongst a huge variety of products.

We pride ourselves on our variety and prices and this position is paramount to maintaining this commitment we have to our local community.
- Selecting and buying variety of products, like groceries, cheese, dairy products, vegetables, fruits, and other various products for resale at Bankstown Lebanese Fruit & Mixed Business.
- Finding the suitable suppliers and wholesalers for the business and maintaining relationship with them.
- Monitoring sale data of all products and writing reports.
- Checking stock levels of the product regularly so that those may be purchased in time.
- Regularly, reviewing performances indicators such as sales and discount level.
- Staying abreast of frequently changing market conditions by studying trade and information available from suppliers and produces as well as from the market.
- Negotiating price and terms with the sellers of different products.
- Making arrangements with suppliers for the supply of their products and promotion of those products.
- Designing and implementing the price strategies of board products as per market competition and demand of products.
- Formulating the strategy to promote purchased products to gain profits and to boost their sales.
- Liaising with the management/owners to promote the sales and regarding long-term planning.
- Formulating the work plans to purchase the products as per the available budget and the seasonal demand.

- Purchasing the products according to the seasonal requirements.
- Anticipating and analysing the consumers’ buying trends and accordingly determining the quality and quantity of the product to be purchased.
- Inspecting the different products, comparing the products of one supplier with the other, and accordingly make offers to buy the product as per quality and market demand.
- Buying the different product for resale at Bankstown Lebanese Fruit & Mixed Business, while visiting the farms premises of products, suppliers and wholesalers presenting new ranges to the business owner.
- Getting samples of products to be purchased so that their quantity and their price may be determined.
- Visiting grocery suppliers, vegetable and fruit farms and wholesalers of different food products.
- Complying with all industry workplace, health and safety rules and regulations.

The required skills and specifications of a person desiring to be a retail buyer, as follows:

- At least a certificate IV or higher qualification;
- At least 3 years of full-time relevant experience.
- The person needs to have strong, analytical and administrative skills.
- The person is required to have motivational, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, planning and organisation skills.
- Efficient and effective time, management, teamwork, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in IT skills.
- Getting feedback from the customers
- The person should be able to travel to attend seminars and tradeshows.
- They should have the ability to work under tight deadlines and under pressure.

$70,000 per annum plus superannuation

**Salary**: $70,000.00 per year
