At Green Leaves Early Learning Centres, we take pride in building innovative and sustainable learning environments in our state-of-the-art, purpose-built centres.

We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our FUN and FRIENDLY environment. You will get to work in our fully equipped Chef’s kitchen, in view of our community lounge where parents can catch up with each other or educators over a fresh barista-made coffee. You can take pleasure in assisting our incredible Centre Chef to create and prepare delicious meals for the children, and participate in our regular culinary classes

**In this role, you will**:

- Support the Centre in preparing nutritious meals, purees, and special meals for babies and children as well as assist with budgeting and costing for the kitchen when required
- Enjoy greeting people in a friendly manner and provide barista service to families (experience preferred but training provided if you are not experienced with this)
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with Food and Council Authority requirements.
- Be a part of the centre's regular culinary classes with the children
- Be available and willing to step into the Chef's role during any periods of absence or leave

**You will HAVE**:

- A Hospitality-related Certificate and a Food Safety Certificate
- Experience with cooking and preparing meals for young children
- A current Working with Children's Check
- Current Anaphylaxis, Asthma, CPR and First Aid Certificates (or willingness to obtain one)
- Prior experience working in a childcare or aged care kitchen (preferred, but not essential)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid time management skills with a high level of initiative
- Availability to work 25 hours a week (Monday to Friday 9am - 2pm), and additional hours when the Chef is absent or on leave.
