Caloundra Salvation Army have an exciting opportunity for a Case Worker to join our team The successful applicant will work within an integrated multidisciplinary framework, aimed at building individual and parenting capability and skills, enhancing the parent/child relationship as well as strengthening a family's link with their community and access to community resources. This position is responsible to provide holistic casework support to clients with outreach capacity, particularly to state school partners.
- You will successfully- Utilise a strengths-based and solution-focussed framework to offer intensive case management to clients-
- Provide client intake and assessment for clients referred to Family Pathways, for family support-
- Establish effective relationships with clients that will encourage self-determination and support them to improve their situation-
- Develop, facilitate or support relevant group or individual workshops, activities and programs that are culturally inclusive and in response to the needs of the family within a community setting-
- Advocate for clients when required to support clients to alleviate any barriers experienced-
- In consultation with Corps Officer/s and partner schools, develop networks, partnerships and referral pathways and case coordination strategies with a range of internal TSA and external community and government organisations to support clients in achieving set goals- This is a full-time position based at The Salvation Army’s Caloundra Corps. The term is for 30 months (about 2 and a half years) with an extension of contract at the end of the term dependent on the stakeholder's continued participation.
You will have- Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work or related field. A degree-level qualification is preferred.-
- Relevant experience in family support work or minimum 2 years in a social service environment including in client assessment and case management-
- Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable families-
- Solid level of experience in the implementation of case management and systems for disadvantaged and/or complex needs-
- Experience working in collaboration with stakeholders to develop and tailor programs to meet clients’ needs-
- A Working with Children/Vulnerable people check is required-
- First Aid Certificate-
- A current QLD Drivers licence-
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check- What we offer
