**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Part Time - Ongoing (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week)
- $71,965 to $77,447 (pro rata amount per annum) + 11.5% superannuation
- Flexible working arrangements available

Reporting to the Manager Planning and Building Services, the Principal Planner will work closely with the Statutory and Strategic Planning teams to providing an efficient and effective customer focused planning service to the community that encourages the sustainable growth of South Gippsland Shire.

In this leadership position, you will provide mentoring of Senior Planning Officers and contribute to knowledge sharing opportunities within the team more broadly.

With highly developed people skills, the role will be required to resolve any disputes, issues or concerns which arise with the development approvals process and represent Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and before panel hearings.

**ABOUT YOU**:
To be successful, you will have:

- A relevant tertiary degree with a minimum of five years relevant experience at a Senior level within local or State government, or the private sector.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time to ensure the delivery of an efficient and accurate planning service.
- Sound communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to engage and influence a range of professionals and community stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the South Gippsland community.
- A sound understanding of the Victorian Planning Policy framework and Urban Planning regulatory framework.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, with broad vision and the ability to add value through the planning process.
